Mary Welford

Mary graduated from Northeastern University School of Law in 1987 and has been practicing law in Vermont ever since. She spent seven years as a staff attorney with Vermont Legal Aid in Rutland representing low-income Vermonters in family, landlord/tenant and disability cases. Since 1985 Mary has been in private practice with a focus on divorce, worker’s compensation, social security disability and other civil litigation. Mary and her husband, Brian Sawyer, formed Welford and Sawyer in 2006.

Mary currently serves as a member of the Vermont Board of Bar Examiners and the Vermont Bar Foundation. Mary is also a trained mediator and offers mediation of family disputes as well as representation in Collaborative divorce cases. Mary and Brian live in Manchester with their three sons where Mary enjoys hiking, cross-country skiing, singing and watching youth sports.
